Before I considered filing for the office of Sheriff of Jack
ion County on tiitf Republican ticket, I carefully studied
the various duties of this office. I also carefully appraised .
my own qualifications to be certain that I could fulfill
the responsibilities entrusted to the Sheriff in a thoroughly
efficient manner. I feel that I DO possess the necessary
qualifications. Furthermore, I am convinced that a sheriff
should also be endowed with those qualities of human un
derstanding and friendliness so necessary to doing a suc
cessful job. Those who know me an my qualifications are
my staunchest supporters in this primary campaign.

78 School Districts
Approve 1950 Budget
Out of 19 rural school districts
who have filed returns on last
Monday's special election to ex
ceed the six per cent limitation
in the budget of the rural school
board, 18 have reported, unof
ficially, that the proposal passed.
The only district opposing ex
penditures in excess of the lim
itation was the West Side school
district, but the size of the vote
in the other districts is expected
to give the equalized county-wide
budget final approval.
There are seven districts yet to
report and the rural board will
not know the final results until
next week.
