Your Health and Its Care
By DR. WILLIAM BRADY. M.D.
Reactors should address liquifies rot Dr. William Brady,
26S II Camino. Beverly Hills, Calit.
PEOPLE ARE CHILDISH ABOUT THE CHI
C-R-I is not another word for
"cold." It is a coined word, an
abbreviation for the cumbersome
vtiCtI phrase Cora-
nion Respira-
tory Infection.
f. Saves time to
say C-R-I (pro
nounced kree)
instead of
iterating those
thre words.
Neither you
nor your doc
tor knows or
can tell at the
onset what the
C-R-I, which
you hope is
just a slight
distemper, Indisposition or, if
you are very ignorant indeed or
very vicious, a slight "cold," will
turn out to be meningitis,
measles, flu, infantile paralysis,
virus pneumonia, scarlet fever,
septic (streptococcic) sore throat,
acute rhinitis, whooping cough
or whatnot. Therefore if you are
a decent citizen you call it C-R-I
until the nature of the trouble
becomes manifest. If you are a
stinker you insist it is "just a
cold" until you have spread
whatever you have among the
persons who are unfortunate
enough to come within your
spray range. That's what C-R-I
means.
In any school that is reason
ably safe for children to attend
a child who shows signs or symp
toms of the C-R-I is automatically
excluded or excused from at
tendance until the indisposition
or illness is over. In some
schools, however, the health of
the pupils is not so protected. On
the contrary teacher or principal
encourages pupils lo come to
school as long as they are able,
regardless of "simple colds." The
attendance record must be kept
high at whatever cost to life and
health.
On radio programs, television
and public forum presentations,
participants are some t i m e s
praised for appearing in spite of
"severe cold" or perhaps for
"getting out of sick bed" to at
tend the performance.
One of the members of a foot
ball team that had a fair chance
to play the Rose Bowl game
came down with the C-R-I the
day before the final and critical
game of the season. But his
friends, his family, his team
mates and everyone, it seemed,
including the doctors who were
concerned, encouraged him to
subordinate all precautions for
his own welfare and the safety

Answer No. On the contrary, mod

many cases of coronary disease. The
caffeine (active principle or aixaioia

more oxygen to the heart muscle.

Cf Gas and Bloat
Former Pinkerton Detective says he
is certainly glad that he found out
about KAL-O-DEX. Homer G. Scott.

"Thanks fo your medicine the awiul

groggy nearly all the time- Sleep was
next to impossible, seems like I wou'd
just twist and turn all night. All of
these distresses were caused, I am
sure, from sluggish bowels, and since
KAL-O-DEX has relieved that condi

Kal-O-Dex and he is getting results,
