Dancers Give Program
At Camp White Center
A number of dance students
from the Colleen Hope studio
provided intermission entertain
ment during a dance held Mon
day nigiit at the veterans' domi
ciliary center at Camp White.
The dance was sponsored by the
Veterans of Foreign Wars and
auxiliary.
Dance solos were given by
Patty Hilton, Gene Kimbrell,
Pamela Hunter and Norma and
Carolyn Funk. Taking part in a
group dance were Evelyn Cot
ter, Lorita Jennings, Sheila
Spence, Sharon Lilly, Donna
Hogue, Carol Menke, Rosiland
Randies, Caroline Stone, Irma
Penwell. Roxanna Larson, Gail
Ronnie and Buddy DeRushe.

Comedy" is the program subject
for the evening and Mrs. Otto
Frohnmayer is program chair
man. Several soloists will pre
sent numbers from various
works in this field. Group par

Plans Announced
By Phoenix Club
For Flower Show
Phoenix Plans for a bulb
show were made at the last meet
ing of Phoenix Garden club, and
the show is to be held in connec
tion with the next regular meet
ing on April 14. The show is for
members, and the chairman. Mrs.
Chris Wolff, has asked that all
entries be in before meeting
time in order that they may be
arranged and ready for showing
not later than 1:30 p. m.
Members are also asked to
name their entries.
Chairman of the corsage com
mittee. Mrs. Jewell Parr, has
announced a contest on spring
hats, strictly homemade. These
will come under two classifica
tions, one for beauty and the
other comic. Only materials
from the garden, plus ribbon,
wire and string, may be used.
The secretary wishes all mem
bers to note the invitation of the
Jerome Prairie Garden club to
attend the club's primrose show
at the Jerome Prairie Community
hall April 12 and 13. The club is
soliciting entries from individ
uals and clubs.
The first college fraternity in
the U. S. was organized at Wil
liamsburg, Va., in 1776.
New Square Dance Club
Organized in County;
Dances Held Saturday
The newly organized Do-Si-Do
Square Dancing club held the
first party last Saturday night
in a building which the group
recently renovated and decorat
ed. The building is located on
the Millard Bush ranch on 'the
Long Mountain road between
Sams Valley and Eagle Point,
the ranch over looking the
Rogue river.
Forty-four members and
friends enjoyed an evening of
dancing and supper was served
at midnight.
Another party is planned for
tomorrow night.
Members of the club include

Mr. and Mrs.' Roy Knotts, Mr.
and Mrs. Millard Bush, Mr. and
Mrs. Jake Olsen, Mr. and Mrs.

Lily Day Parade
To Be Tomorrow;
Girls To Aid Sale
Is there anyone who would
not help a crippled child if he
could? Residents of Medford will
have their opportunity to do so
tomorrow when 50 Medford sen
ior high school girls will sell
paper Easter lilies to help sup
port the Oregon Society for Crip
pled Children and Adults.
Mrs. Merle DeCordova, "Lily
day parade" chairman, an
nounced today that plans have
been completed for the annual
sale on Saturday, April 8. The
high school girls will cooperate
with members of Rotana club of
Medford in the sale of the paper
lilies which marks the close of
the 1950 Easter campaign for
crippled children and adults.
The girls who will wear Lily
Day banners and carry Easter
baskets of lilies, will sell the
lilies on all the downtown
streets, at the airport and at the
Big Y market from 10:30 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Lois Gould
will also assist in the sale.
In urging all the citizens of
the community to buy the lilies
and help make the sale a suc
cess, Mrs. DeCordova said, "I
want to thank all the girls who
are participating in the sale and
Mrs. Marjorie Butler, dean of
girls at the high school, who has
helped so much in interesting the
girls in this project."
Thursday afternoon, members
of the Rotana club were allowed
to show the Oregon society's
film, "A Day in the Life of a
Palsied Child," to the girls at
the high school who will partici
pate in the sale.
The Easter baskets which the
girls will carry were donated by
H. J. Boyd, manager of the local
Woolworth store.
Miss Jeunesse Butler and E.
C. Howard will play the Conn
sonette. an electronic organ fur
nished by Pruitt's Music center,
at Newberry's store from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Saturday as their con
tribution to help make the Lily
Day Parade a success.
