Census Counting
Started Saturday
Light rains met the first ef
forts of the enumerators in the
170th decennial census who be
gan their work in Jackson coun
ty yesterday. The So nose-counters
and three crew leaders at
work locally started the task
which will probably not be
wound up for about a month.
First preliminary results of
the census will be known some
time prior to June 1, census offi
cials believe, although compila
tion of all the statistics will not
be completed until December,
1952.
Mrs. Dorothy Doty is in charge
of census taking in Mcdford, and
H. F. Friel is in charge of the
north and eastern sections of the
county. Under his supervision
enumerators include:

names published Friday.

A showing of the Sir Laurence
Olivier production of Hamlet
will be given at the Varsity
theater on that date, and plans
are being made for a party to
precede the showing of the film.
