'White Maria' Jag
Given Church Bus
Adelaide, Australia (U.R) Par
ishioners of the Gospel church
have nicknamed their special
church bus a "White Maria."
Don Kidd started the bus from
an idea in Melbourne during the
war, when he saw soldiers hang
ing around streets with nothing
to do on Sundays. His bus first
took Sunday school children
home. Then he began picking up
adults loafing in Adelaide
streets on Sunday night and tak
ing them to church.
