'Laborless' Fuels Threaten
To Gobble Up Coal Market

Two "laborless" fuels are threat
ening to gobble up markets of
the aoft coal Industry, which
blames Its poor competitive posi
tion on John L. Lewis.
Operators say their future de
pends on their ability to control
production costs.
But they have a problem not
found In the competing oil and
natural gas industries: Labor rep
resents BO per cent of coal pro
duction costs, and its price is go
ing higher and higher. Pumps
and pipes do most of the work in
gas ana on pi uuui-uuii.
Cost control is Impossible with

The new strike emphasized
the socialist party's warning that

his 19-year-old ton, Prince Ba
douin. Acting Premier Gaston
Eyskens, meanwhile, began con
sultations with party leaders to
form a short-term coalition cab
inet with the liberals dedicated
to the king's return.
Eyskens resigned Saturday
when five of the eight liberal
party ministers in his cabinet
refused to approve the king's re
turn on the basis of his 57 per
cent majority In the recent
pleibiscite.

The New York Infirmary, a
hospital for women and children
has been staffed entirely by
women doctors for ninety-six
years! It was founded by Dr.
Elizabeth Blackwell, first woman
physician to practice in the
United States. I intend to visit
the New York Infirmary soon.
All my life I have wanted to see
a beautiful, red-haired feminine
physician, but never have. May
be there is such a rarity on the
all-female staff of this hospital.
