Announce Cutbacks

S. Steel Corp., announced a dras
tic cut in operations at its Pitts
burgh district mills today as a
result of soft coal shortage.
Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp.,
"Big Steers" largest operating
subsidiary, said opcrntions this
week In the area will drop to 53
per cent of capacity. Last week
they were 06 per cent. Several
other steel firms were reported
ready to follow suit.
London, Feb. 28 (U.R) Dr.
Klaus Fuehs, 38-year-old German
born British physicist, will go on
trial Wednesday on charges of
giving Anglo-American atomic
secrets to Russia, it was an
