Shun 'Stromboli'
Astoria, Ore.. Feb. 24 (U.R)
Ingrid Bergman's new motion
picture, "Stromboli," received
such a cool reception from this
Scandinavian and Finnish popu
lated town that a scheduled four-
day run was cancelled after three
days of poor attendance.
"It was a mediocre picture,
anyway, said A. M. Dunlop. the
theater manager. "The best thing
in it was the volcano, not Berg
man. There wasn't anything any
one could take exception to. It
was Just a bum picture."
uiiniop said, however, that
none of Bergman's films, except
those in which she appeared with
big box office stars, ever did
much business in Astoria.
