Saturday following a heart at

Klamath Falls states. Parker was
taken ill at his home and died en
route to the hospital, it is re
ported. Funeral services are to
be Wednesday at 11 a. m. in
Klamath Falls, and interment
will be in the family plot in
Ashland that afternoon.

Obituary
ELSIE CLUTE
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie
Clute. 61. will be held at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel
Mortuary, with the Rev. Mere
dith A. Groves, of the First
Methodist church, in charge.
Mrs. Clute was born at French
Gulch, Shasta county, Cal., on
September 3, 1888. On December
22, 1917, she was united in mar
riage with Frank Clute, and
moved to the Medford area in
1925. She was preceded in death
by her husband in 1935.
The only immediate relative
surviving is a brother, Charles
K. Whitney, of Central Point.
Other survivors include relatives
near Applcgate and Dunsmuir,
Cal.
It is requested that no flowers
be sent for the service. Commit
tal services will be private, with
interment to be made in the Mis
souri Flats cemetery, in the lam
ily plot.

Wage-Hour Law To Be
Subject Of Radio Talk
New method! of computing
overtime pay under recent
amendments to the federal wage
and hour law will be explained
tonight in a radio address by
Madison R. Smith, investigation
supervisor for the wage and
hour commission's public con
tracts division in Oregon. The
talk will be heard over radio
station KYJC at 7:45 p.m. today.
This will be one in a series
of special programs dealing with
wage and hour law amendments
recently enacted by congress.
Smith will explain how the
amendments clarify such prob
lems as "overtime on overtime;"
what constitutes true overtime
pay and what is premium pay:
how to compute pay for excused
absences, and he will give the
recognized definition of "regular
rate of pay.
Forgery Charge Filed
Against Jailed Man
A charge of forgery has been
filed against Elwood Van Zant
who is held in the city Jail under
$1,500 bond, city police said to
day. Arraignment was . slated
this afternoon.
Police accused Van Zant of
passing a spurious check for
$23.50 at Franklin's grocery on
Saturday. Van Zant was first
booked on a drunkenness charge.
The man is also being ques-
tionea Dy state ponce and Ine
federal bureau of investigation
regarding post office robberies
and forgeries in Washington, and
on other matters.
Park Snow Depth Now
131 Inches, More Falls
Today's total snow depth at
Crater Lake has been measured
at 131 inches, with 15 inches
falling within the past 24 hours,
according to reports received by
radio at park headquarters in
Medford this morning.
Maximum temperature during
the past 24 hours was 25 de
grees and the minimum was 19.
For the information of skiers,
park headauarters said there is
a surface of breakable crust on
the snow. South and west en
trance roads are ODen but chains
are required for travel from
Annie springs to the lake rim.
