smarter animal than a horse?
A. Not at all, sir. A horse is much
smarter than a cat. In the intel

horse is seventh. The cat is tenth.
A dog, of course, is much smart
er than either a horse or a cat.
The dog rates fifth in intelli

'Crusade' Seen In
Senate Candidacy
Fred E. Robinson, Medford
business man who is seeking the
rerjublican nomination for Unit
ed states senator, returned yes
terday from Portland with word
that his candidacy has started
something in the nature of a cru
sade among those up-state re
publicans who hope to oust Sen.
Wayne Morse.
The Medford man already has
gained considerable backing, he
declared, with interest snow
balling rapidly since his formal
filing.
Regarding his recent state
ment that he would withdraw if
Oregon republican leaders would
center on some "true republican,
a man of courage and convict
ions, who will fight for those
convictions," Robinson said he
was urged by Portland friends
not to withdraw unless such a
candidate, who could" also boast
statewide prominence and back
ing, is brought forward.
Lamar Tooze, Portland attor
ney and Partner of Ralph H.
Cake, republican national com
mitteeman, has been pondering
the idea of running for the sen
ate but no definite word has yet
been given as to his decision.
The matter would be somewhat
complicated in Tooze s case as
his partner, Cake, is a very close
friend of Senator Morse.
