A. S. Rosenbaum, who retired
some years ago from service as
Southern Pacific freight and
passenger agent here, was recog
nized as the most outstanding
and courteous citizen o' Medford
in a eulogy delivered by Gus
Newbury for past exalted rulers
and other members of the local
chapter of the Elks lodge at vic
tory loan drive award cere
monies at the lodge temple last
night.
Recognition was given tor
Rosenbaum's many years of com
munity service and for his ef
forts in bond drives in spite of
ill health. Rosenbaum has sold
more bonds himself, than called
for in any one - quota allotted
Medford.
He was the only Individual
to receive a U. S. Treasury de
partment plaque for victory loan
drive services. Other plaques
were presented to the Medford
News, Leverette's Int e r s t a t e
theaters, KMED, Medford Elks.
and the Mail Tribune. In Ash
land plaques were presented to
the Ashland Tidings and Ashland
Elks.
The meeting was the annual
Past Exalted Rulers night and
veterans of World War II, also,
were especially honored.
