er rehabilitation, in thi opinion
of Lt. Col. Agnes McKernan,
former director of the Women's
Prison Bureau of the Salvation

Col. McKernan, who has been
engaged In prisoner rehabilita
tion work In the United States
since 1D23, declared that she
looks upon helping prisoners as
"chance angels would covet",
and expressed her belief that par
ents should set a better example
and give better guidance to their
children. She added, however,
that she did not think youth was
"going to the dogs."
In her Intioductory remarks
Col. McKernan opined that the
"real Americans are out West."
She speaks at the Salvation
Army hall this evening.

Eagle Point, Feb. 21 "The
Rock Market," located on Crater
Lake highway about two miles
south of Shady Cove, will open

and to make all types of novel
ties from native woods, motals,
ceramics, plastics and rocks will
be operated In connection with
the store. There also will be in
outdoor salesyard for "rocks In
the rough "
Agates, local jaspers and petri
fied woods a.id the famous Fri
day Ranch plume agates will be
featured. There will also be a
wide variety of cutting material
for "rockhounds" who cut' their
own rocks. In addition, saws,
grits, polishing wheels and all
manner of Lapidary equipment
will be handled.
Dr. Olsen will examine free
any ore specimens with the
mlneralluht.
One of the special attractions
will be a display room of rocks
and minerals activated by the
Mlnerallght to shades of glowing
colors.
Dr. Olsen, who retired from
active practice In Portland sev
eral years aRO has devoted much
time to his hobby and is said to
have one of the largest collec
tions of fluorescent minerals In
the northwest.
