A troop court of honor for
m'mbtn of Boy Scout Troop 7
was the feature of the American
Legion post meeting at the arm
o;y Wednesday night. Don New
bury acted as Judge of the court,
explaining the courts of honor
enu awards. Scoutmaster R. J.
Bills acted as clerk of the court.
Star Scout awards, a reward
for five merit badges, were pre
sented to Tommy Frey, Billy
Hess and Jimmy Moore by com
mittecman Fritz; Brewer. Spec
ial award pennants for honor
patrols were presented to the
Beaver patrol and accepted by
Billy Ileus, assistant patrol lead
er. Fritz Brewer, Jr., leader of
the Panthers accepted a pennant
for his patrol.

Merit badges were presented to

administration contact man, an
nounced that there will soon be
500 veterans occupying the beds
set aside for. them at Camp
White hospital. There are 100
veterans in the hospital now.
Knight praised the organization
of the veteran consultant service
by the Jackson County Chamber
of Commerce.
New Members Attand
Many new World War II mem
ber were welcomed and Adjut
ant Walter Dunlap announced
that Post 18 Is now a World War
II post due to tho great Increase
of War II members who outnum
ber the War 1 veterans, and the
lead is Increasing daily.
The post . voted to procure
army rifles for a proposed Le
gion firing squad.
A lunch was served by Merle
Jarmln and Herb Crain at the
conclusion of the meeting.

people, Jan. 19. High score
prizes for bridge were awarded
to Mrs.. Earl Ulrlch and Wallace
Dlnkcns, and Mrs. Tracy Booth

pinochle prizes. P.-T.A. Is spon
soring another public card party
for school hot lunch benefit, on
Feb. 9, and a good attendance

and Mrs. Floyd Kelley; tables
and scores. Mrs. William F. Her

Recent dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Tubman were
Miss Marlon Farrell and Mr. and
Mrs. L. Conger of Medford. The
Tubmans and their guests spent
the afternoon skiing at Union
Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lendcrman
Jr., are parents of their first
child, a five-pound, six-ounce
girl, born at a Medford hospital,
Jan. 20. Lendcrman received his
honorable discharge from the
navy last month, after serving
three years.
Another new arrival of local
Interest Is the birth of the first
son to Mr. and Mrs, A. Howard
Arant of Klamath Falls. The
Arants arc well known here,
having made their home at Pros
pect for three years prior to
moving to Klamath Falls, where
Arant is manager of the sporting
goods department at Loronz Sc
Co. They have two other chil
dren, Nancy Lu and Sandra Kay.
The paternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. C. F. Arant reside here.

William F. Herman made
business trip to Portland last
week and slopped at Corvallls
en route home, to visit his daugh
ter, Miss Arleta, who is a Junior
at Oregon State College.
Otto Bahr returned to his
home here, Jan. 20. after spend
Ing a few days at the Sacred
Heart hospital with a case of
blood poisoning, caused from
wire scratch on his forearm.
Sgt. and Mrs. Claude Johnson
and children, Leroy and Donna
Jean, visited at the home of Mrs
Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
H. W. Mather, Jan. 22. Sgt
Johnson, who Is stationed at Tort
Lewis, la enjoying a furlough
with hts family at Medford.
