Oregon State College One
hundred per cent increase and
still coming, was the report of
the registrars office here less
than two weeks after opening
of the winter term. With 3,878
enrolled and many still register
ing, there were 2103 men to
1775 women, compared with
1,940 total year ago.
Veterans receiving aid under
om of the federal laws totaled
1,235, though many other vets
have registered who have not
yet completed arrangements for
federal aid.
Class totals show an all-time
high freshman figure of 1.911,
with 1,085 sophomores, 351 Jun
iors, 315 seniors and 128 grad
uate students, with more of the
last group itill enrolling. A num
ber of veterans are also listed
as special students.
Engineering tops the list of
schools with 827 followed by the
division of business and indus
try with 628, of which 316 are
in secretarial science and 310 in
the B & I major. Home econom
ics has 608, science 399, agri
culture 370, education 242, for
estry 214 and pharmacy 92. Oth
ers are in the non-major lower
division departments.
