CONSULTANT PLAN
FOR VETERANS IS
SET UP IN CITY
The Veterans Consultant plan,
which offers constructive serv
ice to every returned veteran,
was adopted at a meeting of rep
resentatives of business and pro
fessional men, unions, govern
ment, veteran service and vet
eran organizations at the Jack
son county Chamber of Com
merce, Wednesday afternoon.
William H. Fluhrer, president,
and Frank Hull, manager of the
Chamber of Commerce, explain
ed the plan which is operating
successfully in many localities
The Chamber of Commerce
will keep an up-to-date file of 75
local people who have agreed to
serve as consultants. Any vet
eran desiring aid in securing a
job, advice or information
about any business or profession
will be given an appointment
with someone who can help him.
Government agencies and vet
eran service organizations will
help the veteran secure the ap
pointment that will do him the
most good.
Hull, who has spent consider
able time investigating and
studying the plan, said, "this
plan will show the veteran what
the community wishes to do for
him and it will help him under
stand the community better. It
is obvious the plan is needed.
Many veterans, who have been
out of contact with the business
world for several years, are at
a loss on how to find themselves.
The Chamber of Commerce is
merely bringing together the
forces that will bring the ob
jective to a terminal point
Cities where the plan is in
operation report it is helping
make better citizens who are
better able to decide their own
problems."
