commission of the National War
Labor board prepared to turn
over Its duties to a newly-created
labor department stabilization
board at Seattle.
The Portland office has han
dled labor disputes and wage
stabilization controls in the lum
ber and timber industries of Ore
gon, Washington, California, Ida
ho and Montana. The tripartite
commission represented labor,
management and the public and
exercised the authority of the
National War Labor board.
CITRUS PRICE CEILINGS
REPORTED BY OPA BOARD
In response to numerous in
quiries received this morning at
the local war price and ration
board, a statement was made
concerning the ceiling prices on
citrus fruits which returned to
OPA control today. Oranges are
to retail at five pounds for 53
cents, lemons for five pounds for
61 cents, white grapefruit at 10
cents a pound and pink grape
fruit for 11 cents a pound, the
price clerk reported.
It was pointed out that ceil
ings were removed from citrus
fruits some time back but that
skyrocketing prices had forced
their control again.

He was born In Pueblo county,

his home In Southern Oregon.

Allen, Medford; James J., John
B., and Frank H. Rice, of
Auburn, Wash.; and Madison C.
Rice, Spokane; a brother and
sister, Harry H. Rice, Tacoma
and Mrs. Rosa Cosner, Denver;
also 20 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
The Rev. C. W. Frost of the
Apostolic Faith Church, of which
he was a faithful and active
member for many years, will
officiate at services in the Conger-Morris
Chapel at 1:30 p. m.
