Are Doing
Troop 22
Troop 22, made up of Junior
high school eighth grade girls,
has been very active In recent
weeks.
A Christmas party was held
at the Scout House Dec. 14.
Forty boys and girls enjoyed a
wclncr ronst and an evening of
dancing. Joan and Jerry Haring,
Janet Walton, Alice Gault and
Jean Runtz were in charge of
decorations, and Virginia Rich
mond, Sidney Smith, Norma
Ward, Leah Peabody and Mnr
Jorle Williams were In charge
of refreshments.
On the entertainment commit
tee were Carol Sands, Marlys
Franklin, Joan Dean, Jackie
Hcnbest and Kada Johnson,
Eleanor Bragg and Bebee Mil
sap re-decorated the Scout House
after the party for other troop
parties to be held there.
Members of the troop sold
Christmas seals one Saturday at
Mann's Department store and
Saturday, Dec. 22,' a potluck
luncheon nnd gift exchange were
held at the home of the leader,
Mrs. Max Leischncr. '
Next meeting of the troop will
be Tuesday, Jan. 8.

was organized at a meeting held
Dec. 18. There are nine mem'
bers.

Shows In J'Ville
Await Equipment
Jacksonville, Dec. 28 Regu
lar presentation of movies at the
city hall here will begin just
as soon as the equipment arrives
according to Fred Scott of Med-
ford who is sponsoring the pro
ject. Number of shows per week
will depend on the availability
of films.
As a theater, the hall will ac
commodate an audience of ap
proximately 200, Scott believes.
The equipment ordered is mo
bile and Scott is negotiating to
present movies in oi.e or two
other towns of the county.
Scott formerly operated pool
halls In Jacksonville and Lake-
view.
The International Latitude
Observatory in Ukiah, Calif., Is
one of five around the world on
the same parallel.
