CHRISTMAS DAY
Medford's postoffice will be
closed all day tomorrow with
the exception of the general de
livery window according to
Frank D''SoiEa, postmaster, who
stated that this window would
be open from 9 a. m. until noon
for delivery of packagei to per
sons receiving notices. People
asking for these packages must
bring their notices, he said.
The postmaster asked residents
of the city to leave their porch
lights burning this evening in
order to simplify the delivery of
lato packages which will con
tinue until 9 or 10 p. m. Pack
ages will also be delivered to
morrok, DeSouza said.
No city or rural deliveries
will be made tomorrow.
SPECIAL LEGION MEET
WEDNESDAY EVENING
There will be a special meet
ing of the American Legion
Wednesday night at the Armory.
At the last meeting It was an
nounced that the December 28
meeting would be cancelled but
some business that requires an
immediate decision must be
acted upon, according to Com
mander Richard Baize.

OBITUARY
ELLIS GARRETT
Ellis Garrett, 84, who passed
away In a local hospital Friday
night, was born in Iowa, May S,
1861. Leaving that state in
1879, he moved to Kansas and
at Alton, Kans., he was married
in 1888 to Ida Moore who passed
away in 1927. Coming west in
1889, they settled at Mt. Vernon,
Wash., and in 1898, took up a
homestead In eastern Washing
ton and later managed a stage
station in Klickitat county.
Coming to yregon, they have
resided in various parts of the
state and came to Jackson
county In 1925. His home at
present was on the Strang and
Deuel ranch In Sams Valley.
The only near relative is a
son, Glen Garrett of Gold Hill.
Funeral services will be held
In the Conger-Morris chapel at
1 p. m. Thursday with the Rev.
D. E. Millard officiating. Inter
ment will be In Central Point
cemetery.
GEORGE B. CELLARS
George B. Cellars, 77, passed
away in a local hospital Sunday.
He had resided In Portland since
1892 where he practiced law for
many years.
He came to Medford five
months ago on account of ill
health and was making his home
with his daughter, Mrs. Dolph
Phipps of near Medford.
Besides his daughter, he
leaves one son, James H. Cellars
of Astoria and three grandchil
dren. The remains will be forward
ed by Conger-Morris Funeral
Parlors to Portland where scrv
ives and Interment will take
place Thursday.
ELIZABETH MULHOLLEN
Elizabeth Mulhollen, 84,
passed away at her home, 925
North Central, Sunday. Mrs.
Mulhollen was born at Coles
burg, la., July 4, 1861. They re
sided in Montana for many years
and then moved to Salt Lake
City, and from there came to
Medford in 1909 where Mr. Mul
hollen passed away seven years
ago.
She leaves two sons, Edward
L. Mulhollen of Los Angeles
and James H. of Medford.

Funeral services for Frank
Obert Cochran, a resident of
Central Point, will be conducted
from the Perl Funeral Home
Thursday at 2 p. m. with burial
in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
DAVID M. WATT
David M. Watt, a resident of
Phoenix for the past 25 y.'ars,
passed away at a local hospital
Saturday night. Funeral ar
rangements in charge of the
Perl Funeral Home, will be an
nounced later.
JOHN EDWARD HASKINS
John Edward Haskins, former
resident of Jacksonville, passed
away at Salem, Dcr. 22. Mr.
Haskins was born at Old Union
Town, near Ruch, July 25, 1888,

years, passed away Sunday
morning. Funeral arrangements

State police aaid this morning
that snow was falling fast on the
Siskiyou and Greensprings high
ways and that auto travel was
dangerous.
Snow was packed three Inches
from Bear Canyon to Ruby's
Kitchen on the Siskiyous with
slush the rest of the way to the
foot of the mountain, police
said.
Those attempting mountain
(ravel were advised to carry
chains, according to police.
