the last meeting of the Jackson
ville Garden club held at the
home of Mrs. Otto Heckert, Dec.
20. She discussed new trends
in yards and ideas borrowed
from the English, French and
Italian gardeners, and used
charts to Illustrate formal and
informal yards With their rela
tion to the house, trees, walks
and other areas.
Hostesses for the afternoon
were Mrs. Heckert, Mrs. Marian
Nieriermcycr and Mrs. Mary
Godward. Mrs. Godward was
awarded a prize.

Give Dinner Party
Gold Hill Employees of the
Gold Hill auto park and their
husbands were guests of the
proprietors, Mr. and Mrs. John
Cogswell, for dinner Friday
evening, December 14, at
Fiupp's dining room In Central
Point.

Christmas stories and quota
tions featured the meeting of
the Wednesday Study club held
last week at the Girls' Com
munity club. Roll call was
answered by giving a Christmas
quotation.
Mrs. A. J. Handby read "Our
Christmas" by Julia Walcott and
'The Bells' by Longfellow and
the story "To Springvale for
Christmas" by Zona Gale was
given by Mrs. F. K. Deuel. Mrs,
F. E. Nichols sang "The Birth
day of a King" and "White
Christmas" and carols were sung
by the club with Mrs. Nichols
leading and Mrs. Stella Hend-
rickson accompanying.
Refreshments were served by
the good times committee,
Mrs. Frances Cochran, Mrs. F.
K. Deuel and Mrs. O. H. Brenne-
man.

Wed in Med ford
Mrs. Georgia Muncrief Ander
son, Ephrata, Wash., and Clar
ence Reuben Peebles, also of
Ephrata, were married here
Thursday at the Chapel of the
Rocks and Roses, with the Rev.
D. E. Millard performing the
ceremony.
For the wedding, Mrs. Ander
son wore a brown suit with an
orchid corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Peebles will re
turn to Ephrata to reside. Mrs.
Peebles has been in Medford for
the past two months at the home
of her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Harris,
South Oakdale avenue, and Mr.
Peebles arrived from the north
Thursday morning. He is chief
deputy auditor of Grant eounty,
Washington.

for 21 years. Most of them are
