Suppose, like Aladdin, you
bad a mighty Jinn,
And whenever you gave
that Jinn a dollar bill or two
or three he would go out and
save a life.
From the brink he would
snatch back a little child ... or
somebody's mother ... or a
returned veteran ... or maybe
your own dear friend.
Thai Is exactly what hap
pens when you buy the famed
Christmas Seals of the National
Tuberculosis Association.
When you spend a dollar
or two or three for these
familiar stamp-like greetings to
grace your Christmas cards and
packages, you put to work the
giant Jinn of anti-tuberculosis
education.
You put this great life-saving
force on the job for the year
'round. Yet, in this gift-giving
season, you get an extra divi
dend of satisfaction. For, every
Christmas, through wider
knowledge about "TB," you
and your Jinn bring to many
the finest gift of all good
health.
Aladdin himself could not
do as much!
This year, the Christmas
Seal sale commemorates the
fiftieth anniversary of Roent
gen's discovery of the X-ray-now
medicine's chief helper
in diagnosing "TB." Vet the
progress of those fifty years
almost matched by the life-span
of the National Tuberculosis
Association only emphasizes
the unending character of the
battle.
No longer is it a sentence of
death when the doctor says
"TB." But research, education,
the promotion of more facilities
must go on without a break.
That Jinn must be kept on
the job with Christmas Seals.

V&amvhile, make your present tires last! Your General Dealer
the definite Plan available to you now!
JK,fV'v'vWr s 1
S SOON as rubber restrictions are
lifted, General will present proudly and
without qualification to the car owners
of America the greatest tire ever built!
It will be well worth waiting for!
Already thoroughly tested, the new General
la ready to go into production as soon as
but not before the finest natural rubbdr
Is again available and government restric
tions permit the use of more natural rubber
in passenger car sizes. The present allow
ance is only a little more than an ounce.
This increase should come soon, if the
government releases only a small part of
the crude rubber stockpile now on hand.
Then, General will build into this new
tire all the extra performance its advanced
design makes possible and bring you the
complete satisfaction you would expect of
a tire designed to enhance General's famed
Top-Quality reputation.
Even when our dwindling stock
pile of natural rubber was one of
America's most potentially danger
ous wartime shortages, tire manu
facturers were permitted to usa
30 natural rubber in truck tires,
because the military recognized
that a certain percent of crude rub
ber is absolutely necessary for satis
factory tire performance. With 30
natural rubber and 70 synthetic,
General is building the best truck
tires ever built, proving that all that
is needed to get the same perform
ance from passenger car tires is
a small amount of natural rubber.
All during the war, General was a large
producer of synthetics and its research
produced a number of important develop
ments. But, synthetic passenger car tires, while
they have served during the era of 35-miIe-an-hour
top speed, do not represent even
the starting point for the kind of tire that
General wants to produce . . . and will soon!
Meanwhile, we have a definite Plan avail
able to keep your present tires serviceable
and guarantee you priority delivery of the
new Generals as soon as they are available.
