Cull Pears Bring
$50,000 This Year
Shippers of the valley estimate
the value of cull pears shipped
this season to Barker Brothers
dehydrating plant at Watso-
nville, Cal.. at $50,000. It would
have been twice that amount
but for labor and transportation
lack and pears ripening before
they could be gathered. In past
season cull pears have been a
waste product.
It is understood that by next
season a dehydration plant will
be established here, preliminary
arrangements being now underway.
