    BIX MEDFORD MAIL-TRIBUNE
Friday Oei. 18. 1945
FIRST 1 946 FORD
BEING SHOVN AT
CRATER MOT
Th first of the 1948 model
on makes It debut In Medford
today with the preview of the
new Ford V-8 at Crater Lake Mo-
ton. An open house will be fea
tured today until 0 p. m. and all
day Saturday, according to Clar
ence Wlnetrout. The showing
will be held In the showrooms
of the company at Sixth and Ivy
streets, but with the new hand
some of Crater Lake Motors now
under construction at Main and
Fir streets, Ford, Mercury and
Lincoln-Zephyr sales and service
will be transferred to that new
location early next year.
J. R. Davis, director of sales
and advertising, said that the
company long had planned to be
first In public display of auto
mobiles.
He said it had been hoped that
prices of the new cars could be
announced at the time of the pub
lie showing, but now It doesn't
appear as though a price would
be received from OPA by that
time. Consequently, dealer deliv
eries to the public apparently
will be delayed.
"Ford production Is rolling
now and if we can go ahead
unhampered, we should have
hundreds of Fords In every sales
area within a few weeks," Mr.
Davis said. "We will continue to
seek a price arrangement so per
sons who want to buy Fords may
do so as soon as possible."

Loi Angeles, Oct. 28 (U.R)
A favored, but again outweighed
University of California at Los
Angeles football team will be
host tonight to the University of
Oregon, whose coach, Tex Oli
ver, made history In 1939 by
coaching one whole game from a
stadium press box.
Cal Rossi, UCLA's flashy right
halfback, Tackle Herb Boom and
Center Marlon Childers all start-
era and all V-12 trainees, will be
playing their last game of the
season for UCLA. They are
scheduled for transfer to Harv
ard as midshipmen.
The hot and cold Webfoots
stand a good chance to beat the
Bruins, If they play their best
ball. Last week, with backs Juke
Lelcht, Bobby Reynolds and
Wait Donovan flashing great
form, Oregon upset Washington
State. 26 to 13.
Another loss for UCLA will
eliminate the Brains from any
possible Rose Bowl considera
tion.
