HYPERTENSION
Hypertension is a word often
used to signify high blood pres
sure. It originates in many dif
ferent causes. One of the first
questions upon the discovery of
hypertension is "Shall we try to
reduce it?" The answer is usual
ly "yes!" But many factors must
be taken into consideration.
Local infection should be sought
and if found eliminated. The re
lation of diastolic or low to sys
tolic or high pressure is an im
portant factor. Pathology if
present, of the vascular system,
the liver, the digestive tract, and
the kidneys must be considered
in the treatment of hyperten
sion. Often the condition of the
kidneys depends upon the con
tinuance and intensity of the
vascular lesions attendant upon
hypertension. If heart failure or
brain hemmorrage do not de
velop, the symptoms of renal in
sufficiency usually do. As hy
pertension usually originates in
"multiple causes," multiple
therapeutic measures are usual
ly required. The bio-chemical
treatment of naturopathy is the
natural method of attack.
