In San Francisco
Scene of Wedding
Miss Fern Kinscy, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Day
of Route 3 Medford became the
brida of Jerome E Jacobson of
San Francisco in a ceremony
held Saturday, Oct. 6 at the
Presbyterian Little Chapel of
the Lakeside in San Francisco.
Dr. Rogers read the double
ring service in a setting of
candles and flowers.
Misv Kinsey's wedding gown
was of white marquisette, lace
trimmed and designed with a
train, and her fingertip length
veil fell from a sweet-heart cap.
Her bouquet was of orchids and
bouvardia.
Attendants were Mrs. Richard
Porter of Long Island, New
York, matron-of-honor, and Mrs.
Frances Anfinson of San Fan
cisco. Mrs. Porter wore yellow
chiffon with a shoulder length
veil field with plumes and she
carried an o'd fashional bouquet
of blue and yellow blossoms.
Mrs. Anfinson's gown was of
aqua chiffon and she also wore
a veil held with plumes while
her bouquet was ot yellow and
blue flowers
Michael De Cataldo of New
York gave the bride In mar
riage. The groom was attended
by Steven Barolda and ushers
were Floyd Ritchie and R. V.
Stone.
A reception was held at the
home of Mrs. Anfinson and the
bride and groom left afterwards
for a wedding trip to southern
California.
Both the bride and groom are
in the navy, the bride holding
the rating of mailman second
class in the Waves and the
groom being an aviation radio
man first class. Mr. DeCataldo,
Mrs. Porter Mr. Ritchie and Mr.
Stone are also of the navy.
Mrs. Jaconson a graduate of
the Grants Pass high school,
has been in the service 16
months. The Jcobsons are
both stationed in San Francisco.

Wed This Month
To Army Sergeant
Announced this week was the
wedding of Miss Marjory Stew
art, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James B. Stewart, 50 Modoc ave
nue, to Master Sgt. Fred J. Kafer
of Glendale, Ore. The service
took place in Long Beach, Calif.,
Oct. 2.
The bride, a graduate of Med
ford senior high school, later at
tended Southern Oregon College
of Education and the University
of Oregon. For the past three
years she has served as executive
secretary of the Eugene Girl
Scouts and Nov. 1 will take up
her duties as an executive for
Seattle Girl Scouts.
Sgt. Kafer returned to the
United States in June after one
and one-half years overseas serv
ice with the army. -
Mrs. Wall In County
To Visit Relatives
Mrs. Nellie Wall, former Med
ford resident who has been Jiv
ing in Roseburg for the past two
years, is in the county to visit
her son, Carroll Wall and his
family, Williams Creek, and oth
er relatives and friends. She lat
er will go to Klamath Falls to
visit another son, Harold, and
Mrs. Wall, in that city.

Sojourners' Club
Is Held Thursday
More than 50 members and
guests enjoyed the annual guest
day of Medford Sojourners' club
held Thursday afternoon at the
Girls' Community club. Hostesses
for the affair were members of
the executive board, and includ
ei Mrs. Vincent Smith, Mrs. H.
Stahl, Mrs. C. H. Voegtly, Mrs.
H. A. Krause, Mrs. J. Dierdorf,
Mrs. C. Talbot, Mrs. H. J. Roe
mer and Mrs. D. C. Hood.
The serving table was decorat
ed with a large bowl of chrysan
themums, which were presented
later in the day to Mrs. J. H.
Tizzeker.
At bridge prizes were won by
Mrs. R. Watson and Mrs. C. O.
Simpson, guests, and Mrs. H.
Morris and Mrs. C. Thompson,
members. At pinochle prizes
were won by Mrs. C. Crary and
Mrs. D. E. De Armond, guests,
and Mrs. Robert Church and Mrs.
W. Herron, members.
Prospective members present
were Mrs. J. H. Tizzeker, Mrs. C.
Crary, Mrs. W. C. Purdin and
Mrs. D. E. DeArmond.

ing of the American Associa
tion of University Women Wed
nesday at the home of Mrs.

street.
Cantail Ahl had a long tour
of duty aboard the USS Mis
souri, on which peace terms
with the Japanese were signed,
and member1! who attend are
promised one of the most inter
esting meetings of the winter.
Hostesses for the evening will
be M-s. Flinn, Mrs. Maynard
Bush, Mrs. Gordon Gilmore,
Mrs. H. G. Dowson, Miss Mar
ian Farrell and Mrs. W. W.
Deakins.

To Honor Couple
Roxy Ann Grange held open
house for all valley grange mem
bers and friends on Friday, Oct.
5, to honor Mr. and Mrs. Charles
F. Skeeters who celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary this
week.
Mrs. Carl Quackenbush, chair
man of the Home Economics
club, planned the table appoint
ments, carried out in white and
gold. Wedding cake and golden
sherbet was served.
Miss Geraldine Thomas, lec
turer of Roxy Ann grange, di
rected a program made up of
popular songs of the "Gay Nine
ties." Mr. and Mrs. Skeeters were
seated on the stage, as though
reminiscing, while groups dress
ed in "bicycle built for two" cos
tumes danced and sang for the

Will Entertain
Neighbor Lodges
Mistletoe Camp of the Royal
Neighbor lodge will entertain
visitors from the Ashland and
Jacksonville lodges at a meeting
here Thursday. Following the
lodge session a social evening
will be held, with entertainment
in charge of Edith Beck and re
freshments in charge of Pearl
Miller.
A large attendance is antici
pated for the affair, set for 8 p.m.
at the K. of P. hall.

Is Celebrated By
Medford Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Daugher
ty celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary Thursday, Oct. 11,
with a dinner at their home on
Ross Lane. Table decorations
were in the traditional silver,

couple received.

their cnildren. Lola, Loveta and
Arlis, Medford. Floyd Reed of
Coos Bay. Lt. and Mrs. John
Loika (nee Lillian Daugherty),
and Pfc. and Mrs James F.

Lt. Loika. of the 91st Infantry
Division, and Pfc. Harris of the
13th Airborne Division, are

The Salvation Army Home
League began the fall program
with :i dinner meeting recently
at which Major Henry Koerner
of San Francisco was the guest
speaker.
During the meeting the mem
bers planned to send Christmas
packages to men and women in
the service, as they have In past
