Llva Oak Grange
Live Oak grange met Aug 20
in regular session with 33 mem
bers and two visitors present,
and Master Carl Christonson pre-
sldinc. Roll call with each mem
ber telling "how to get rid of
tired feelings" brought amusing
advice. Mr. Smith, manager of
the Josephine County General
hospital, and wife, explained the
cooperative hospital plan. At
the close, watermelon was
served.
Next grange meeting, schod
uled for Sept. 3, will be post
poned and at n.-on Sept. 3 (Labor
Day) the annual grange picnic
will be held on the lawn of the
W. L. Bradle) home. Each fum
ily is asked to bring a basket
lunch and table service. Coffee
and cream will be furnished, and
Mr. Parks has offered to furnish
lambs for Mr. Athea to barbecue
for the group.
HEC met Aug. 16 to make
plans for a harvest dinner to be
served at the grange hall in Sep
tember. Mrs. Kate Ruehllng re
quests that all ladies attend the
next meeting to plan for the ba
zaar. On Saturday night, Aug. 18,
the grange held a recreation
party and dance. These parties
