Twins Home Dean and Dale
Pruett, both aviation radiomen
third class, twin sons of Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Pruett of route 2,
were home for a few hours Fri
day. They, with four other nav
al men of their squadron, were
driving through Medford from
the naval base at Pasco, Wash.,
to another station in California
for further flight training. Both
men are aerial gunners and radio

Housa Discharged Floyd
House returned to Medford Fri
day with an honorable discharge
from the navy, and has returned
to work with the local branch of
the telephone company as a
transmission man. Last rated as
a chief electrician's mate, House
has recently been stationed in
the southern Philippine Islands,
and before that was with a com
munications unit at San Diego.
Ha has been in the service 15
months, and his family have
made their home at 630 West
Fourth street, Mr. and Mrs.
House have a son, Norman, in
the merchant marine.

Luring Hospital Betty
Reames, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Reames of 27 Gen
eva street, is expected to be re
moved to her home tomorrow
night from Sacred Heart hos
pital, where she underwent an
appendectomy Saturday. Her
condition is reported as good.
Aid Air Park Dick Alley,
Neil Collins and Bill Chrysler
are donating their services to
ward completion of the .air park
being constructed on the fair
grounds, Frank H. Rogers, city
superintendent, said today. Work
was begun last Wednesday and
is said to be progressing nicely,
To Visit Hera SSgt. Robert
James Hoover and parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Hoover, of Se
attle, are to arrive in Medford
this week for a short visit with
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hoover, 37
Tripp street, and other relatives.
Sgt. Hoover, who has been sta
tioned on Guam with the air
corps, visited several times with
1st Lt. Earl C. Wheelock, plane
commander of the "City of Med
ford." Hoover is on a 15-day
furlough and will remain in the
States for advanced training.
Mrs. Stedman Leaves Mrs.
Audrey Stedman and small
daughter, Lois Kay, left Medford
Thursday for Washington, D. C,
where they will join Mrs. Sted
man's husband, Lt. Robert Sted
man, stationed there as an army
Instructor. Lt. Stedman, former
ly on the staff of Medford high
school, is teaching construction
work, and his family will make
their home in Washington while
he is there. Mrs. Stedman is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. N.

class of 1043, has been in the
army four months and will re
port to Camp Maxey, Tex.

Returned Ta Action Mrs.
Nelle Winne, 609 West 10th
street, has - received word that
the ship on which her son, Lt.
Commander George M. Winne,
serves was damaged in the ty
phoon which hit the Pacific
fleet last month, but It is now
back in action. Lt. Commander
Winne is a navigator on the car
rier San Jacinto, and was re
cently awarded his second
bfcnze star.
Lumon On Furlough S'Sgt.
fra Luman is spending a 30-day
furlough in the city visiting his
wife and parents, Mr. t and Mrs.
Ira C. Luman, Route 4. The ser
geant arrived in the states re
cently from England where he
has been stationed with the 8th
air force for the past 26 months.
Luman is a graduate of Medford
high and attended normal school
at Ashland and Oregon State
college before entering the serv
ice.
Fountain Coming Pfc. Roy
H. Fountain, son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. Fountain of Talent, is ex
pected to arrive home on fur
lough soon, after several months
of duty in a glider infantry unit
in Germany. His parents re
ceived Sunday a purple heart
medal awarded to Fountain for
wounds suffered in action last
January 7, In the Belgian bulge.
He entered the service In Jan
uary of 1944, and has been over
seas since last October.
Bromley Hera Pvt. Spencer
Bromley, son of H. C. Bromley,
is spending a few days leave
here en route to Scott Field,
111. He enlisted in the army air
corps in March, 1944, and en
tered the service after finishing
high school last year. He is spe
cializing in radio and has re
ceived training at Keesier Mem,
Miss., Sioux Falls, S. D-, and
Truax Field, Wis. His brother,
Robert Bromley is in the Phil
ippines with the U. S. army,
