Yankee Doodle
goes to town!
In a brief half -decade It will
be another four score and seven
years since Abraham Lincoln
poke at Gettysburg where
victory had just given this land
Its greatest Fourth of July since
the first.
Now, as when this country
was born, and again when Lin
coln spoke, we are engaged in
war testing whether a nation
conceived in liberty and dedi
cated to the proposition that
jttt men are created equal can
long endure.
In that test the humanity
ef Washington and Lincoln ar
rayed against the whip of Him
mler and the hate of Hirohito
this nation has shown a
strength undreamed of by any
other nation.
It has fought s global, two
front war . . . across the Atlantic
aW across the Pacific... yet it
has had power left over to share
with its allies! That's something
to celebrate.
Furthermore, as Gettysburg
marked the crisis in 1863, so the
collapse of Germany has marked
the crisis of this war. Similarly
it has shown we have the might
to make full victory sure. Simi
larly it makes the approaching
Fourth of July the "greatest
ever."
Yet, even today, we Ameri
cans don't know our own
strength. We do know, though,
that with peace will come more,
production, more jobs more
good things for everybody a
Freer and more prosperous land
than even the gifted Franklin
could foresee.
For time and again since this
nation's natal day 169 years ago,
free Americans have shown that
when there is a crisis Yankee
Doodle goes to townl And
comes back bigger than ever.

PROTEINS
Nutritionally, proteins are es
sential complex organic com
pounds. They are principally
composed of hydrogen, carbon,
oxygen and nitrogen. It is the
latter element that distinguishes
protein nutritionally. Some pro
teins contain other elements In
small amounts. One of the fun
damental characteristics of pro
teins is that they are basically
composed of some of the Amino
Aclds In different combinations.
Protein foods are necessary for
health and growth. They are es
sential in the diet for the pur
pose of building new body pro
tein for growth and replace
ment of the loss by wear. Pro
teins are also needed for the
formation of bodily secretions,
enrymes, and hormones. Each of
these require a particular kind
of protein, having the different
Amlno-Aclds variously combined
according to the special require
ment. The normal body has a
general protein reserve on which
it can draw In cases of deficient
intake or of great demand.

What Do
You Do
With This
KID?
There li a film In town this week called
"TOMORROW, THE WORLD!" coming
to the Craterlan Theatre for a four-day
engagement starting Wednesday. We
believe that "TOMORROW, THE
WORLD!" presents to important a mes
sage that It deserves comment and recog
nition. "TOMORROW, THE WORLD!! Is eon
cerned with the problem of what to do
with the German people, particularly the
German children. The film sets out to '
answer this all-important question in a
straight-forward challenging way.
The film's problem Is not presented from
INSIDE Germany. Rather, its action re
sults from the visit of a typical Hitler
youth with an average American family.
It shows how the careful education of
youth in the Nail "morality" of deceit,
cruelty, arrogance and racial superiority
all but destroys the easy-going family.
Not until the devilish pattern of "divide
and conquer" practiced so artfully by the
12-year-old youngster emerges does the
family fully comprehend the extent and
seriousness of the danger presented by
this youth.
We feel that "TOMORROW, THE
WORLD!" is more than a picture. It Is a
Question demanding an immedite and
irrevocable answer because it strikes at
the core of the fight in which we just
emerged victorious.
How are we to deal with this German
youth? Can we, having defeated In battle
an army and a people Imbued with the
. Nazi Ideology, turn our hacks on our vic
tory and face the possibility that our chil
dren will in 20 years once more face these
boys as full-grown enemies?
"TOMORROW, THE WORLD!" Is cour
ageous and intelligent attempt to show
us the way towards a solution of this prob
lem. You owe it to yourself and your fam
ily to see this Important picture and to
think long and deeply about its signifi
cance in making the bright future we all
devoutly see.
Sincerely,
THE MANAGEMENT
