The 1943 apricot pack handled
by Sacramento canneries will be
the lowest in the history of the
industry, it was revealed to
night. Strike difficulties were
blamed by owners of the can
neries. Three major plants were tied
up by a jurisdictional dispute.
They resumed packing aspara
gus with partial crews, and Ber-cut-Richnrds,
one of the plants,
announced it will be able to
handle "some" apricots.
Plants operated by Llbby, Mc
Neill & Libby and California
Packing Corp. said they will be
unable to handle apricots, but
hope to start on peaches about
July 25.
