Milt Olson ts. Kenny Ac-kles.
A large crowd Is In prospect
for tonight's Medford armory
wrestling program when Mack
Lillard presents a double main
event featuring three of the
toughest muscle-stretchers now
in the northwest.
"Gorgeous" George Wagner,
self-styled toast of the coast and
former coast champion, will
meet Jack Lipscomb, who is rap
idly crowding in on the title of
the armory's most hated man In
one half of the twin bill. In the
other half Antone Leone, the
eye-jabbing meanie from New
York, will go against Paavo Ka-
tonen, also a former coast cham
pion. A coin will be tossed to
determine which match winds
up the card.
Lillard was unable to bring
Wagner and Leone together for
a rematch but if both win to
night they will probably be
forced together again.
The three round opener, slated
to go to the mat at 8:30, will give
lovers of clean matches a special
treat. The bout pits Milt Olson
and Kenny Ackles together In
what promises to be a thrilling
match of speed and leverage.

Stanley Keller pitched him
self into the local hall of fame
last night when he hurled a no

and batted three for four. He
whirled six would-be hitters and
issued no walks. Stubbins, pitch
lnw for the Guards, fanned three

Imperishable history was being written In the West ',
140 years ago this month by two courageous young :
men Captains Meriwether Lewis and William
Clark.
On their trail-blazing journey to the Pacific they
sought, but failed to rind, a pass through the Rocky
Mountains in northern Montana.
That elusive gateway through the mountains was
discovered 83 years later when Great Northern Rail
way was advancing westward. Through now
famous Marias Pass the railway's trains cross the
Continental Divide less than a mile above sea level.
The pioneering services of Captains Lewis and
Clark have been commemorated by a monument '
which stands along the steel trail of the Empire
Builder near Meriwether, Montana.

A sprinkler with an opening H inch wide,
running at full pressure wilt use 300 gallons
of water an hour. This will cover a lawn or
garden space of 2500 sq. ft. with 12 tons of
water in ten hours, the equivalent of one
Inch of rainfall. In extremely hot weather
this is enough sprinkling for one week 50
tons of water a month. In cool weather
' sprinkle less often. If a sprinkler runs over
two hours every day, it is water wasted.
