Set. Ed Lafferty, with' his wife,
brother and parents, of Gold
Beach, Ore., is visiting In Med
ford at the home of his cousin,
B. L. Hunter, 51 North Oakdale
avenue. Sgt. Lafferty was re
leased from a German prison
camp April 26 after being a pris
oner for ten months. He served
with the air corps in Europe and
Is on a 60-day furlough in the
States.

DYSENTERY CASES
One case each of scarlet fever
and undulant fever and two of
amaeblc dysentery were report
ed during the week ending June
22 according to the office of the
county health officer, Dr. A. Erin
Merkel. The undulant fever is
the second reported recently but
according to Dr. Merkel, both
are very old cases Just now de
termined and both are extreme
ly light. The scarlet fever and
undulant fever were reported
from Medford and the two cases
of dysentery from Ashland.
Also reported were two cases
of whooping cough, one here and
one in Gold Hill; five cases of
chicken pox in Medford and one
case of measles from Central
Point.
