Paris, June 26 (U.R) The
American 82nd Airborne division
will be transferred soon from
France to Berlin, where it has
been assigned as part of the per
manent occupation force in the
German capital, it was reVealed
today. n
The 82nd will relieve the Sec
ond Armored division, now in
the Halle area, which may move
into the Berlin district to take
over the American part of occu
pation duties until the 82nd ar
rives. Scheduled to move out of the
strip of central Germany now

occupied by the Russians are the
102nd infantry- in the Gotha
area; the Sixth Armored near
Welmas; the 30th Infantry near
Saalfield, and the 76th Infantry
near Gcra, Fifth Armored at
Halle and 60th Infantry near
Leipzig.
Ten Divisions Selected
ten divisions have been se
lected for the permanent occupa
tion of Germany and semi-permanent
occupation of Austria.
Five divisions which hold part
of the Sudetnland border area of
Czechoslovakia and in a small
part of Bohemia are the 26th In
fantry, near Husenetz; the 94th
Infantry near Schuttenhofen; the
Eighth Armored near Noorzan;
the 16th Armored at Tashau and
the 79th at Falkenau.
The U. S. Third army's 103rd ;
Infantry division located near
Innsbruck controls the western
Tyrol and the 42nd Infantry the
eastern Tyrol.
Tenth at Wellhelm
The 10th Armored division is
at Wellhcim, the 80th Infantry
near Kaufbeuren, the 45th Infan
try near Dachau, the 14th Ar
mored near Wassenburg, the
20th Armored near Traunstein,
and the 101st Airborne at Salz
burg. The 11th Armored Is in the
southern half ot Oberdonau and
the 63th Infantry in the northern
half.
The 83rd Infantry Ii near Gafe
nau, the 90th Infantry near Wei
den, the Ninth Armored at
Munchburg and Bayreuth, the
69th Infantry near Wurzburg,
the First Infantry near Ansbach,
the 7lt at Dillingen, and the
Ninth Infantry near Ingolstadt.

In the Seventh army area the
12th Armored is at Allen, the
36th Infantry in the Ulm area,
the 100th Infantry near Goppin

been reorganized in Berlin.
