In the second week of the
Southern Oregon Baseball
league, Medford Craters travel
to Butte Falls Sunday, Ashland
goes to Central Point and Klam
ath Falls Navy plays at the
Klamath Falls Marine Barracks.
Paul Freer, Crater manager,
announced the team will leave
the Fairgrounds park at noon
and requested all players to be
at the park and ready to travel
at that time.
Dick Kidwell will be on the
hill for the Craters, Freer said,
with George Gitzen receiving,
Homer Sullivan on first, Freddie
Stammcn at second, Harold
Large at third base, Al Kircher
at shortstop and Herb Burnham.
Carl Reich and Dick Babb in the
outfield. The entire squad will
make the trip, the manager
stated.

Antone Leone outsmarted
popular Kenny Ackles and
Georges Dusette took the mea
sure of "Gorgeous" George Wag
ner in a double main event at
Medford armory last night.
Leone grabbed the first fall in
the third session with a reverse
headlock. Ackles evened the
count In the fourth frame with a
shoulder press but missed a
sonnenberg in the fifth and was
pinned for (he winning fall,
Wagner started out clean In
his match with the coast cham
pion but couldn't keep It that !
way. Dusette took the first fall
with a full nelson but Wagner
evened the match with a half
crab. In the fourth round Wag-1
ner persisted in winding Du
sette's legs in the ropes so Refe
ree Earl Yoakley gave the match
to Dusette on a foul. Wagner was
displeased and started a fight
with the arbiter but Yoakley
stretched him on the mat. i
Otis Clingman and Paavo Ka-'
tonen each grabbed a fall in
their opening match.

meet Junior Chamber of Com
merce in the first half of the
double header of the city Softball
league at the high school park
tonight, starting at 7:45. Littrell
Parts will face the State Guard
In the other half of the bill. The
loop opened Tuesday night with
Jennings Tire Shop and Camp
White taking victories to pace
the league. Since each team
plays-once. a week, tonight's con
test will mark the unveiling of
the four clubs.
Since none of tonight's teams
have been in active competition
this season they are of an un
known quantity but fans are
expecting a pair of fast games if
Tuesday's openers mean anything.
