tian newspapers published today
a map of Germany showing the
line of demarcation between the
zone of Russian occupation and
that of the western Allies.
An explanatory note published
with the map said the line was
decided in an agreement among
the governments of Russia, Brit
ain, the United States and
France. .
The line ran from a point on
Lueberk Inlet at the Junction
of the Mecklenburg and Schles
wig Holstein frontier, along the
western border of Mecklenburg,
to the border of Hannover prov
ince and along its eastern border
to the border of Brunswick,
then along the western border of
Prussian Saxony to the western
border of Anhalt, and along its
western border and the western

flurry of buying in gold shares
and strength in individual issues
gave the stock market an Irregu
lar appearance today. Trading
was somewhat lighter.
Demand for gold shares on
both the New York stock and
curb exchanges followed an
nouncement In Ottawa that the
Canadian government had lifted
all restrictions on the production
of gold and other metals.
On the "big board" gains In
the golds ranged to more than a
point in Mclntyre-Porcupine and
Homestake, while on the curb
similar gains were noted in Con
solidated Mining and Lake Shore
Mines.

OF DISEASE TABULATION
Chickenpox and whooping
cough top the county's list of
communicable disease reported
to the county health department
for the week ending last Friday,
the report shows.
Six cases of chickenpox were
reported from Medford and two
from Prospect. The whooping
cough was reported from Rogue
River, Eagle Point, Griffin
Creek,- Reese Creek and Gold
Hill. One case of measles was
reported from Medford.

Members, leaders and troop
committee members of Girl
Scout Troop S entertained at a
potluck supper for girls on East
Main street. Rooms had been
attractively decorated with
flowers.
During the evening a group
of girls sang several' Irish songs
for the parents' entertainment.
Mrs. W. R. Finch, leader, pre
sented her co-worker, Mrs. John
Larwood, and troop committee
members, Mrs. Lloyd Smylle,
Mrs. Clyde Richmond and Mrs.
Homer Blum with corsages. Mrs.
Marjorie Hopkins, special guest,
was also presented a corsage.

of guilty before Circuit Judge
Herbert K.. Hanna yesterday.

She was accused of smashing
the windshield of an auto be
longing to her estranged hus
band, Ben Geary.
