Old Pacific highway Saturday

In WAC Pvt. Lorraine Jones,
843 South Ivy street, is taking
basic military training at the
third WAC training center. Fort
Oglethorpe, Ga., according to a
recent news release from the
fort. She is a member of one of
the newly organized medical
companies. Pvt. Jones is the
daughter of Mrs. Laura J. Jones,
Medford, and was employed by
the Boeing aircraft corporation
prior to enlistment in the WAC.
Receives Wings Alan S.
Fleischer of Medford received
his silver wings and was gradu
ated as a flight officer of the
army air corps at Marfa, Tex.,
May 23, a release from the
school states. Fleischer, a gradu
ate of the Central Point high
school, was assigned to Marfa
field from the field at Merced,
Calif. He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold J. Fleischer of Cen
tral Point and his wife is the
former June Nealon of Central
Point.

Ovar Amount Limited by Section 11. Article XI, State Constitution
Notice Is hereby given that an election will be held in School
District No. 100 of Jackson County, State of Oregon, et School
House in said school district, for the purpose of submitting to the
legal voters of said district the question of Increasing the tax levy
for the year 1945 over the amount limited by section 11, article
XI, of the Constitution of Oregon.
The reasons for Increasing such levy are:
The amount which can be levied inside the t limitation Is not
sufficient to defray expense of the school year.
The amount of tax, in excess of the 6 limitation, proposed to
be levied for said year Is $4,198.93.
