ORDINANCE NO 3863
An Ordinance providing for a
special election for the City of
Medford, Oregon, on the 12th
day of June, 1945, submitting
thereat to the legal voters ol
said City proposed acts of mu
nicipal legislation amending the
charter of said City by adding
thereto new sections thereof to
be known as "Sections 72-0,
72-P, 72-Q, 72-R, 72-S, and 72T"
respectively. Each thereof au
thorizing the City Council to
create a further bonded indebt
edness for the purposes as set
forth in said respective proposed
charter amendments,

Section 1: That there be, and
hereby is, called a special elec
tion in and for the City of Med

Section 2: That each of the
four wards within the City of
Medford are hereby declared to

precinct for the purpose of said
election and the following poll

copy of this ordinance to be

weeks prior to such election.

heretofore authorized the Coun
cil of the City of Medford Is
hereby authorized and empow
ered to borrow money on the
faith of said City and for that
purpose to issue bonds to obtain
necessary tunas to buna and con
struct an intercepting sanitary
sewer for the City of Medford,
Oregon, to make such improve
ments and acquire such rights of
way, easements, and real prop
erty as Is necessary in connec-
tion therewith. The total amount
of indebtedness incurred and the
bonds issued pursuant to this sec
tion shall not exceed Seventy
eight Thousand ($70,000.00) Dol
lars.

Section, shall not exceed Three
Hundred Thousand ($300,000.00)

MEDFORD that the Charter of
the City of Medford, being an
act entitled "An act to repeal
an act entitled "An act to re

incorporate the Town of Med
ford, in Jackson County, Ore
gon and limiting its powers
and defining the duties of its
officers," and to repeal an net
entitled "An act to incorpo
rate the Town of Medford, In
Jackson County, Oregon, ap
proved February 24, 1883,"
filed in the office of the Sec
retary of State February 21,
1889" and all amendments
thereof, and to incorporate the
City of Medford, in Jackson
County, Oregon, and to define
its powers and duties," ap
proved February 8, 1901;

1. In addition to the bonds
heretofore authorized, the Coun
cil of the City of Medlord is
herebv authorized and empower
ed to borrow money on the faith
of said City and for that pur-
pose to issue bonds to obtain
necessary funds to grade, plant,

for public park purposes, that
certain property in the City of
Medford lying East of Bear
Creek and between Jackson and
Main Streets, and known as
"Olds Tract" and provide such
equipment, buildings, and facili
ties upon and otherwise improve
said lands as may be proper and
necessary for the use thereof for
public park purposes. The total
amount of indebtedness incurred
and the bonds issued pursuant to
this section shall not exceed
Seventy-five Thousand ($75,
000.00) Dollars. '
2. The debt limitations con
tained In the charter of said City
shall not apply to the bonds here
by authorized.

Eagle Point, May 21 (U.R)-.
A memorial to men and women
of Eagle Point and vicinity who
are in the various branches of
military service has been
planned by Eagle Point Grange.
A special committee consisting
of Paul G. Olson, chairman, Mrs.
T. M. Littlefield and Cal Lusk is
in charge of arrangements in
eluding raising of necessary
funds, erection and dedication of
the memorial.
Plans call for a fountain four
feet high, six feet long and three
feet wide, of white cement with
local rocks, petrified woods,
agates, chalcedony, Medfordite,
jaspers of all colors and other
colored rocks Imbedded in the
cement. A copper plaque with
suitable inscription will be
placed on the fountain at the
dedication service. A large fir
troe will be placed near the
fount In to make the back
ground. Permission has already
been obtained to get the tree
from the forest service.
The memorial committee hat
announced a grand carnival to
be held at the Grange hall base
ment May 28 at 8 p. m. Plans for
