According to the citation, Lt.
Cordon assisted in extinguishing
a fire and in removing valuable
government property from the
path of the flames, despite in
tense heat and explosions of am
munition. Lt. Cordon is serving as a pub
lic relations' officer at the base.
Before entering the service he
was with the patrol and inves
tigation division of the Oregon
state police. The officer's wife
and son, David, reside in Wash
ington, D. C.

dow of Purucker's Music Store,
111 North Central avenue. The
instrument, property of A. Far
rington, of Rogue River, bears
a nameplate which reads: "Me
riollees Dar 1827-34-37, Ignac
Pleyel and Co., Hor's De Con
cours 1840, Paris." Pleyel pianos
were used by Chopin in most of
his concerts, according to Mr.
Farrington, who purchased the
musical heirloom in a California
second hand store.
