EDYTHE M. ANTLE
TAKEN BY DEATH
Edythe M. Antle, well known
and long-time resident of Med
ford, passed away at a local
hospital early today after a pro
longed Illness. Mrs. Antle was
born at Winnipeg, Canada, Sept.
11, 1883. She came to the United
States over SO years ago, and
was united in marriage to the
late John Walter Antle at Jack
sonville, on April 8, 1912. She
has made her home on the Jack
sonville highway for the past
several years.
She leaves a host of friends to
mourn her passing. She was a
member of Adarel Chapter No.
a, eastern Star of Jacksonville
She is survived by one daugh
ter, Mrs. Jane Kessler, two
grandchildren, Sandra Jane and
Jerry Ley Ian Kessler, also one
brother J. J. Osenbrugge all of
Mecttora.
Funeral services will be con
ducted from the Perl Funeral
Home, Monday at 2 p. m., with
the Hev. Father George R. Tup
ney, rector of St. Mark's Episco
pal church officiating. Interment
wm be private.

The Jackson countv court, act
ing In conjunction with the com
manders council of county vet
erans organizations, has under
consideration the appointment of
a service officer to serve the
needs of all veterans of the
county. Appointment will be
made at the start of the fiscal
year, July 1.
Applications, In writing, may
be mailed to the county court.
Applicants are asked to give
their qualifications, age, place
of residence and to state whether
or not they are veterans.
The successful applicant must
be capable of dealing with fed
eral and state bureaus and must
know the laws as to what bene
fits a soldier is entitled. The sal
ary has not yet been fixed, ac
cording to the court.
Ray Wright Wins
Trip to New York
Ray E. Wright, Medford agent
for the New York Life Insurance
company, has won a firm trip to
New York City by qualifying
with more than $300,000 busi
ness in ten months, the company
announces. Out of 8000 agents,
about 600 qualified for the
award, It is stated.

Wright stated today. Two nation
wide gatherings have already
been cancelled by the firm be
cause of war restrictions, Wright
said.
