Sgt. Kenneth Lewman, who
formerly lived in the Berrydale
district and attended Howard
school, was killed in action over
Germany March 25 according to

Sgt. Lewman enlisted from
Lakevlew where he lived with

was a German prisoner in the
prison camp Stalag 7A near Mu
nich, Germany, that has been re
cently liberated by the Ameri
cans. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Abbott
and family who lived on the
Weaver ranch have sold their
crop and "nachinery to Mr.
Beaney. the new owner of the
ranch and have moved onto
what is known as the Edmonson
orchard where they will live un
til fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bennett
have received word from Camp
Baker that their son, Jack, Is
being treated for a back ailment.
Jack had several attacks of this
same ailment before entering
the service.

hear that Mrs. Johnson was tak
en to the Grants Pass hospital
May 4, seriously ill.
