28 Juvenile Cases
Handled In 10 Days
Juvenile Officer Robert M.
Elder said today he has handled
28 formal and informal cases
through his office in the past 10
days.
Types of cases handled. Elder
said, were destruction of pro
perty, smoking cigarettes at
school, shooting livestock and
dogs with .22 rifles, destruction
of head markers in graveyards
burglary, theft of government
property, intoxication, auto
theft, contributing to delinquen
cy of minors, theft of money, sex
offenses, school truancy and runaways.

Services for Mrs. Hattle Lo
gan, Jacksonville, who passed
away in a local hospital Thurs
day, will be held In the Conger
Morris Chapel at 2:30 p. m.
Monday with the Rev. L. H.
Mitchelmore officiating. Inter
ment will be beside her husband
in Jacksonville cemetery. Jack
sonville Ruth Rebecca Lodge
No. 4, of which she was a mem
ber ,for 23 years will have their
services at the graveside. Pall
bearers will be members of
Jacksonville IOOF lodge.
She was born in Sterlingville,
the old mining town, during the
active days at the Sterling mine,
on June 28, 1865. She had spent
her entire life in Jackson and
Josephine counties. .
Surviving are four sisters,
Mrs. Letitia Riddle, Burbank,
Calif.; Mrs. Alice Ulrich, Jack
sonville; Mrs. Ivy Childers, Mid
dletown, Calif., and Mrs. Laura
McFall, Stockton; a brother,
Harry Gilson, Colfax, Calif., and
many nephews and nieces.

BOYS FLEE JAIL
IN LANE COUNTY
County law enforcement offi
cers have been asked. to be on
the lookout for two youths who
escaped from the Lane County
jail in Eugene sometime be
tween 11 p. m., April 25 and 6
a. m. April 26, according to a
report received by local police.
The report listed the escapees
as Elvars Culver, 18, six feet
tall, 180 pounds, red hair, blue
eyes, ruddy complexion and
heavy build and Richard Dale
Weddell 18, five feet, nine
inches tall, weighing 12 pounds,
dark brown hair, slender build
and tattoo on both arms and
chest.
Culver, according to a report
received here, was seen in Eu
gene yesterday morning in the
company of a girl. He is said to
have had an automobile in his
possession at the time. The
youths were held on a burglary
charge.

Dorothy Jeanne Rees, 27,
divorcee, charged with contrib
uting to the delinquency of a
16 year boy, with whom she
assertedly lived as man and
wife in Klamath and this county,
entered a plea of guilty before
Circuit Judge Herbert K. Hanna
yesterday. Sentence will be
passed Monday.
Merle Roxy Kerby, charged
with a morals crime, was sen
tenced to an indeterminate term
not to exceed three years in state
prison. Kerby, the authorities
charge, is wanted in Roseburg,
Grants Pass, Salem and Klam
ath Falls, on check charges
Louis M. Hancock pleaded guilty
to larceny of clothing, and was
given a one year term in state
prison.
