Price of Poultry
Due For Increase
Washington, March 23 (U.R)
The government soon will boost
the price of poultry In a move
to encouragt production and re
lieve the present shortage, it
was learned today.
Economic Stabilization Direc
tor William H. Davis is expect
ed to authorize the increase in
the very near future, perhaps
before the end of the week.
Farmers will be offered
price incentive, reportedly a
little more than one-cent-a-pound,
to produce more broil
ers, friers and other meat chick
ens. There now . is a virtual
famine of this kind of food in
metropolitan markets through
out the nation.
