out of its shell in the basement
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert John
son's house in cold January in
stead of waiting for a warm
spring month. As soon as it came
to, the butterfly found a begonia
plant and made Itself at home. '

.Community Chest of Medford, Inc., to be held at the
Chamber of Commerce, 123 West Main Street, Medford,
Oregon, on Tuesday, March 27, 1945, at 1:30 P.M., the
following proposed amendment to the constitution of the
Community Chest of Medford, Inc., will be submitted to
the members present and voting at such meeting:
- It is hereby proposed that Section 5 of Article IX of the
Constitution of the Community Chest of Medford, Inc.,
be amended to read as follows:
Section 5. The Board et Directors shall hold
meetings at least once during each
month at a time and place to be fixed
by the Board of Directors. Special
meetings of the Board of Directors
may be held upon call of the President
' or upon a request of any five members
of the Board filed with the. Secretary.
A quorum at any special or regular
meeting shall be not less than seven
members of the Board. Notice of such
meetings shall be given to the mem
bers of the Board of Directors in '
writing mailed to their usual places of
business.

What the Girl Scouts
Are Doing
Friday afternoon troop 15 at
the Oak Grove school held its
annual court of awards. Because
of the very able and stimulating
leadership of Mrs. W. S. Rose
and Mrs. W. D. Jensen, troop
leaders, the girls have enjoyed
many activities in their Girl
Scout program. The badges
awarded were: Cyclist, needle-
craft, colorcraft, weaver, design,
cooks, glass, junior citizenship.
transportation and communica
tion, my community and my
troop.
The Scouts receiving these
awards were Sheryl Jensen
Jania Grigsby, Ann Killings
worth, Priscilla Campbell, Leeta
Paris, Betty Keeny, Deloris Cog
hill and Aylene Hopkins.
Very special mention must go
to Aylene Hopkins who has com
pleted her requirements for' the
curved bar the highest award
in Girl Scouting. In addition to
her regular troop activities
Aylene Hopkins has given 150
hours of community service. A
Girl Scout award for this serv
ice can only be earned when the
service was given without fi
nancial remuneration. It was a
joy to hand the 190-hour service
award to Aylene Hopkins.
