Gunter, route 1, box 109R, col
lided at the intersection of
Stewart avenue and Peach
street about 6 o'clock last
night, according to a report on
file with state police. Charles
Konopasek, a passenger, was
slightly injured, the report said,
with minor damage resulting to
the automobiles.

was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Boagland of Klamath Falls Dec.
3. The child, named Alice Ruth,
weighed eight pounds and two
ounces at birth. This is the sec
ond child born to the Hoag
lands. Mr. Hoagland has been
connected with the Fluhrer
bakeries for over 17 years and
for the past nine years has been
manager of the bakery In Klam
ath Falls. Mrs. Hoagland Is the
former Eleanor Brownrlgg of
Phoenix.

rooms in the courthouse will be

stances have arisen making it ne
cessary to make an additional
1600 dressings during those two

Promoted Ross F. Swall,
serving as an administrative of
ficer in the 318 Medical Battal
ion, 91st Division, in Italy, was
recently promoted to caDtain.
Capt Swall, with the division
when it was stationed at Camp
White, was recently given a di
vision citation for outstanding
performance of duty with the
um Army in Italy. Mrs. Swall
resides at IS South Barneburg

Leaves For Texas T. Set,
William D. Davis has returned
to Biggs Field, Texas, after en
joying a 22-day furlough with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C E.
Davis of Delta Waters Orchards,
and his sister, Mrs. Paul Yocom
of Spring street While in Med-
ford Sgt. Davis was visited by
his brother, Roy K. Davis, and
family of Waldport, Ore. Sgt.
Davis returned from Eneland
last February after completing
25 missions over enemy terri
tory as first engineer and top
turret gunner on a B-17 bomb
er. ' He has been awarded the
air medal with three oak leaf
clusters and the Distinguished
flying cross. Sgt. Davis is now
in the turret gunnery depart
ment of Biggs Field, El Paso,

James J. Ferrell, former resi
dent of Medford who has resid
ed for the last eight years at
Bonanza, Oregon, passed away
In a local hospital early this
morning at the age of 86.
Mr. Ferrell was born in Clark
county, Kansas, March 6, 1888.
Besides his wife, Maud Ferrell,
he leaves four children. Opal
Nelson, Medford; Hazel Smith,
Jacksonville; Orville Ferrell,
Klamath Falls and Daisy Cox,
Bonanza; also the following
brothers and sisters, Ella Wood-
more, Zoola Bass and Jack Fer
rell of Boise, Idaho; Katie
Bowles, Kooskia, Idaho; Stella
Bowles, Toppenish, Wash.; Anna
Breshears, Portland, Ore.; Nellie
Hanson, New Plymouth. Idaho:
William Ferrell, Parma, Idaho
and Fay Ferrell, Klamath Falls;
