A match for which Medford
wrestling fans have long been
clamoring will be presented at
Medford armory Thursday night
when Promoter Mack Llllard
presents Pete Belcastro and the
Gray Mask in the main event.
During the Mask's stay in Med
ford late last year patrons con
tinually requested the promoter
to bring these two roughhouse
experts together but he was un
able to get them to agree to
match.
In order to make way for the
Belcastro-Mask bout as main
event, Llllard was forced to
move Jack Kiser, Gust Johnson
and Terrible Tony Ross to pre
liminary spots. Kiser, coast
light-heavy champion and John
son, who wears the coast junior
heavy belt, will clash in the
seml-wlndup. Considerable inter
est centers In this clash since
, both men have been consistent
main event winners. '

Angeles, was killed in air ac
tion over Holland, recently, his
parents were informed by the
army yesterday.
Rcltz won the national AAU
javelin title In 1037 with a
heave of 224 feet, a meet record
at the time.

team moved into a tie with
Klamath Falls for second place
when they defeated Grants
Pass, 42 to 39, at Ashland last
night. Ashland played without
the services of "Puss" O'Harra,
who was In Portland taking an
examination for service In the
merchant marine.
Halftime score was knotted at
20-20, but Ashland hit their
stride In the third quarter and
ran up 16 points. -With seven
minutes left to play Dommte
Provost, Ashland center fouled
out and Grants Pass began to
close the eight-point gap separat
ing the two teams. The Grizzlies
resorted to stalling In the final
minutes to emerge with a three
point victory. Don Faber of Cen
tral Point and Virgil Swanson
of Medford refereed.

again in a conference game at
Grants Pass Friday night.
EIGHTH GRADERS
WIN THIRD GAME
The eighth grade team of Med
ford junior high school, coached
by Ray Henderson; won Its third
straight game when they defeat
ed Ashland junior high's eighth
grade team Tuesday for the sec
ond time this season with a score
of 16-14. The game was a thrill
ing one from the start and at no
time was there more than a
three point difference in the
score.

Gil Dodds Plana To
Give Up Track For
Career In Church
Boston, Jan. 17 U.R) Gil
bert (Gil) Dodds, America's' No.
1 mller, announced today that
he, plans to give up his track
career Jan. 22 and join a gos
pel preaching group in Los
Angeles.
Dodds, now taking his final
examinations at the Gordon
College of Theology and mis
sions here, said that he expected
to run his last race Saturday
when he competes in a two-mile
event at the annual Boston
YMCA Indoor meet,
"Seems like this will be my
last race," he told the United
Press. , "I've had a chance to

ROGUE RIVER SET
TO START MAY 5
Trout season in the Rogue
River will open May 8 and close
October 31, according to tenta
tive plans drawn up by the Ore
gon state game commission in
session at Portland last week.
A few changes were planned for
limits and length of seasons in
southern Oregon, according to
Kenneth G. Denman of Medford
who attended the meeting. The
commission will meet again in
Portland January 27 for final
decision on the fishing laws of
the state.
As tentatively drawn up laws
governing Rogue River, Dia
mond Lake and Fish Lake follows:
ROGUE RIVER Trout sea
son, May S to October 31. Per
mit taking of all trout over six
Inches. Bag limit IS fish but
not to exceed 18 pounds and one
fish.
November 1 to December 81
Trout not less than 18 inches
in Rogue river and tributaries,
except in tributaries above Gold
Hill and Illinois river and its
tributaries above Illinois Falls,
season closes November 30. Bag
limit 10 fish but not to ex
ceed IS pounds and one fish. -
January 1 to February 28
Trout not less than IS Inches
in that part of Illinois river ex
clusive of its tributaries irom its
confluence with Rogue river up
to Illinois Falls. Bag limit 10
fish but not to exceed IS pounds
and one fish.
Steelhead are classified as
trout and may be taken only
during open season provided
for trout
Entire year Salmon over 20
inches in length, except that
above tidewater no Chinook sal
mon may be caught or taken
from August IS to December 1.
Bag limit three a day, nine in
seven days or possession (not to
include any steelhead trout).
DIAMOND LAKE Season
May 30 to September 20. Bag
limit Not over five a day and
not to exceed IS pounds and one
fish day or 30 pounds and two I
fish but not 'over JO fish for
seven days.
FISH LAKE Season May 1
to August 'IS. Bag limit Ten
pounds and one fish but not to
exceed 10 fish in any one day
or 20 pounds and two fish but
not to exceed 20 fish in any sev
en days.
ROGUE RIVER CLOSURES
From a point 100 yards below
the lower fish racks to a point
10 yards above the upper fish
racks at Rogue Elk.
From Gold Ray dam to upper
side of Gold Ray bridge.
At the cement company pow
er plant above Gold Hill, 100
yards above the upper end of
the diversion dam to a point euu
feet below the lower side of
junction of the tail race and
main channel of Rogue river,
including the channel of the
river and the diversion canal.
From Savage Rapids dam to
a point 400 feet below the dam.
From Ralney Falls to a point
400 feet below the falls.

MRS. JUDSON REFUSES
TO ATTEND FUNERAL
Los Angeles, Jan. 17 (U.R)--Mrs.
Louise Peete Judson, pa
roled killer facing a second mur
der charge, today chose to re
main in her prison cell while
funeral services were conducted
for her husband, Lee Borden
Judson, who leaped to his death
after he was cleared of com
plicity In the slaying of Mrs.
Margaret Logan.
"I don't want to humiliate his
family f u r t h e r they're good
people," Mrs. Judson said, in re
fusing to attend the services of
her second husband to take his
own life..
