Sir Harry Lauder, noted Scot-

has made 22 tours of the United
states.
r Forbes wrote that a Red
Cross girl took himself and
three officers to Yorkshire to
visit the famous sinner. Hie
house, wrote Lt. Forbes. Is lo

made of stone, not unlike soma
houses in this country. He told
of having tea and cakes with
Lauder and of snendlna two
hours Visiting with him. Lauder
called them by their nicknames
and insisted on being called Sir
Harry, Lt. Forbes, who Is sta-
tioned in Scotland, wrote,
Lauder took them thrnueh the
various rooms and showed them
collections accumulated on hla
trips over the world. He could
remember many things about
homes of the boys who were his
visitors and recalled Portland,
Columbia River Gorge. Klamath
Falls, Link River and other
places of Oregon,
Lauder, while showing his
collection of canes, picked one
up and sang a couple of songs,
Lt. Forbes wrote.
On the way home the Red
Cross girl showed them the
place where Rudolf Hess crashed
on hla escape from Germany, the
letter said,
