A JOB WELL DONE!
Q Upon the close of another year, we have just reason to
review with pride the achievements of America after
three long years of bitter warfare. The march of our armies
against the enemy is writing a gallant page in history . . . the
drive of our great navy on the seven seas is a record for which
we are both proud and grateful. .'
Q But behind these heroic fighting men has been an unend
ing flow of mighty warships and smaller naval craft with
hundreds of transports and carriers. Thousands of warplanes
streak the skies in the four corners of the globe. Tanks, guns,
trucks, jeeps, ammunition, supplies in unbelievable quantities
have been sent forth to war.
A quarter-century ago Von Hindenburg attributed Ger
many's defeat to American production. History is repeat
ing itself once more. America's military successes are a trib
ute to our free enterprise as well as the gallantry of her fight
ing men.
f As the day of victory dawns, let us remember this. Let us
guard this free enterprise that has made America great
and strong! Eternal vigilance will be the price of liberty, and
free enterprise and liberty are one and inseparable!
