Irishman Can't Be
"Happy .Irishman"
Says State Court
New York, Dec. 20 (U.R)
James J. McDonald had the
birthright today to be an Irish
man, the God-given right to be
happy and the license to sell
automobiles, but the state su
preme court said he couldn't do
business as "The Happy Irish
man."
That, said the court, was tread
ing on the toes of non-Celtic
Leland Holzer, who sells auto
mobiles under the legally-approved
title of "The Smiling
Irishman." '
"Hipp y" McDonald once
worked for "Smiling", Holzer
and sold so many cars he went
Into business for himself as "The
Happy Irishman." Holzer claim
ed this was a trespass on his
good name.
A third car dealer, presently
trading as "The Laughing Irish
man wasn t commenting.
