Wild" Heads Rialto Show
The dramatic 'inside" story of
Germany's secret bid for domi
nance in a third World War is
engrosslngly told in "The Mas
ter Race," opening today at the
Craterian.
Woven around the theme that
the nazis have merely been' fig
ureheads for the real leaders of
Geimany the fanatics who
evolved the "master race" theory
which has notlvated both world
wars and that these same lead
ers are even now preparing to
try af ain In another 20 years to
conquer the world, the picture
presents a vivid glimpse of their
operations.
The central character is a Col.
Von Beck, one of the Junker
old guard who firmly believes
in Germany's destiny, even as
the German armies are collaps
ing. On the eve of surrender
he disguises himself as a Bel
gian patriot and goes to the lit
tle village of Kolar in Belgium
where, as the allied forces
march in, he pretends to be anx
ious to help in the task of reconstruction.
Instead, he stirs up unrest
among the villagers and sets
them against the American and
British troops. With many of his
fellow-fanatics doing the same
thing in other occupied areas,
Von Beck hopes the ultimate re
sult will be to arouse such dis
sension between the allies and
the peoples of these areas asto
make it easy for Germany to
launch another war at some op
portune time in the future.
How the ambitious scheme
works out in Von Beck's case
provides the thrills in this
drama.

lar, Wis., No. 1 U. S. air ace in
this war with a total bag of 36
enemy planes, has been award
ed the congressional medal of
honor, the War Department an
nounced today.
The award was made after
Bong, although serving as a gun
nery instructor, engaged volun
tarily in a series of combat mis
sions in -the Pacific and shot
down eight Japanese planes.

Medford will come Saturday

school stadium when the men
from the famous 4th infantry
regiment stage a spectacular as
sault on a Japanese pillbox. The
simulated attack is to be an act
ual reproduction of a battle that
took place on Leyte in the Phil
ippines. In this thundering
drama the war's deadliest wea
pon, the flamethrower, will be
seen. The night show begins at
7:45 and win last about an hour.
