""sinusitis""
It seems that sinus trouble Is
becoming more common. Most
sinus troubles are catarrhal con
ditions. While smoking is usual
ly considered the cause of sinus
itis, it can and usually does, if
excessive, serve to aggravate this
condition. . Smoking naturally ir
ritates mucous membrane. This
irritation causes an increased se
cretion from the raucous surface
of the sinuses. The secretions be
come thicker, gradually accumu
late in the sinuses, congestion oc
curs, drainage is Interfered with,
and pressure results. In treating
sinusitis the general mistake Is
in considering sinus trouble as a
local disturbance. This lends to
the use of sprays and inhala
tions. Sinusitis develops from a
systemic background. Nature
cure methods, attacking it along
this line, offer the best chance
tor its successful treatment.

Letter From Union
Gives Appreciation
To County Chamber
Jackson County Chamber of
Commerce has received a. letter
of appreciation from the United
Telephone Employees of Oregon
for the use of rooms in the build
ing for a meeting in November.
"It is rather a rare occasion
for a labor union to meet in a
Chamber of Commerce edifice,"
Edw. T. Healy, president of the
group, wrote, "as by some it is
presumed we are not on the best
of relations. We do not feel that
way and the fine civic spirit
you have shown in the above
gesture should disapprove and
condemn any such thought or
idea."
Mr. Healy further commented
on the fact that the union used
the rooms without charge.
' Autos and trucks can now run
on fuel made from wood. You
may yet drive Into a gas station
and say, "Saw me off five gal
lons, please."
