St. Louis Browns Celebrate First Pennant

The San Francisco Seals today
held their second governor's cup
after winning the Pacific Coast
league post-season trophy from
the Los Angeles Angels 4 to 2
after Angel Third Sacker Stan
Grav sat down hard In the fifth

FRIDAY EVENING
The annual football Jamboree
of 13 school six-man teams will
be held Friday evening at the
Mcdford high school field. Open
ing game between Central Point
and Gold Hill will be called at
ight o'clock. This game will be
followed by the Prospect-Jack
sonville encounter. Eagle Point
will then tangle wilh Phoenix,
and the final game will be be
tween Talent, last year cham
pions, and the runner-up, Rogue
River.
Each game will run for twelve
minutes. It is expected that at
least seventy-five boys will see
action in this season opener.
Regular league games for the
B schools will start on Friday,
October 13, and will continue
for six weeks ending with a
play-off between the East and j
West division. East division
teams are Central Point, Eagle
Point, Prospect, and Talent.
West division consists of
Rogue River, Jacksonville, Phoe
nix, and Gold Hill. Friday
night's Jamboree finds the east
division pitted against the west
division and the final score will
give some indications as to
which s the stronger league.

American league pennant on
September 8, which by happen

big league and the bush country,
had butter-fingered their way
through one of the most gosh
awful exhibitions of bunt and
drag, hit and error any pennant

Climax of Spin
The game was the 9-5 drub
bing the Browns had suffered at
the hands of the Chicago White
Sox in Chicago, and climaxed
