ed an invitation to fly to the
United States for two months
of competition in connection
with a war bond campaign.
Legation spokesmen said that
the Invitation was made by the
United States treasury through
the foreign office. Haakan Lid
man, a hurdler, also accepted an
invitation to make the trip.
The announcement came less
than a day after Hagg's return
from Helsinki, when he dis
claimed knowledge of any such
Invitation and said he doubted
whether such a tour could be
made until after the war.
The three athletes are expect
ed to leave Sweden early in Oc-tobr.
